Some things are worth passing down.
Hi, I'm Jess. I grew up in a garden centre. My grandparents started it. My mum and aunt still run it today. Before I could read, I knew what season it was by what was growing.
I studied archaeology later which sounds like a strange turn, but it wasn't really. It gave me language for something I already felt. That the things a culture stops passing down don't just fade. They disappear. Quietly, without anyone deciding they should.
Irish folklore is disappearing that way. Story by story. Season by season.
Little Sprouts started because I'm a parent too, and I couldn't find anything that brought Irish stories, the natural world and childhood together in a way that actually fit into real family life. So I made it.
Every box is my attempt to put something worth keeping back into little hands.
